Uniform & Equipment

Kemnal Technology College students will be in smart full school uniform and well-equipped to learn. We place great emphasis on students wearing the correct College uniform as we believe it provides our students with an identity and sense of community. It also helps promote a purposeful approach to learning; assists in promoting good standards; and gives an ethos of self-discipline.

Uniform Policy

Uniform Expectations

To promote a sense of pride and unity within our school community, all students are expected to adhere to the following uniform guidelines:

Clothing
  • Black blazer with the College badge (must be worn at all times).
  • Black tailored trousers (no tight-fitting trousers or shorts).

  • White shirt to be worn with a College tie.
  • Black V-neck jumper (optional but must be plain and in addition to blazer)
  • Plain black socks or white socks (that do not extend above the knee) or tights (these should not be worn together).
  • Plain black flat shoes (no trainers or shoes resembling trainers).

  • Waterproof coat (hoodies are not permitted).
  • A suitable College bag (large enough to carry books and essential school materials).
Equipment
  • Classroom equipment: pencil case with black, blue, red pens, pencils and sharpener and ruler. Clear pencil cases plus Maths sets can be purchased at the College.

  • Make-up should not be worn, including false eyelashes or fashion accessories such as coloured contact lenses.

It is important that parents and students are aware that students will be removed from lessons until uniform infringements are rectified. If students are not in full uniform, they will be placed and work in the internal exclusion room (IE), until they have the correct uniform on.

Uniform Stock

We have started to stock donated uniform items for students to borrow from. We have limited stock at the moment but we hope, with your support, that stock will increase over time and grow into a well-used resource for families i.e. Uniform Swap on a Friday in our Community Hub. Parents/Carers are welcome to drop off unwanted uniform items at any time to Reception (washed first please).
