Uniform

Kemnal Technology College places great emphasis on students wearing the correct College uniform as we believe it provides our students with an identity and sense of community. It also helps promote a purposeful approach to learning; assists in promoting good standards; and gives an ethos of self-discipline. 

Uniform Policy

Uniform Expectations

To promote a sense of pride and unity within our school community, all students are expected to adhere to the following uniform guidelines:

Clothing
  • Black blazer with the College badge (must be worn at all times).
  • Black tailored trousers (no tight-fitting trousers or shorts).
  • Black panelled skirt with pleats (length must be no shorter than 10 cm above the knee).
  • Collared white shirt to be worn with a College tie.
  • Black V-neck jumper (optional but must be plain and in addition to blazer)
  • Plain black socks (that do not extend above the knee) or tights (these should not be worn together).
  • Plain black flat shoes (no trainers or shoes resembling trainers).
  • Waterproof coat (hoodies are not permitted).
  • A suitable College bag (large enough to carry books and essential school materials).
Equipment
  • Classroom equipment: pencil case with black, blue, red pens, pencils and sharpener and ruler. Clear pencil cases plus Maths sets can be purchased at the College.
Jewellery and Make-Up
  • Watches are encouraged to support students’ punctuality (smartwatches are not permitted).
  • Students may wear up to two small stud earrings (one per ear lobe). Facial piercings are not permitted.
  • Make-up should not be worn, including false eyelashes or fashion accessories such as coloured contact lenses.
  • No nail varnish or false nails are permitted.

It is important that parents and students are aware that students will be removed from lessons until uniform infringements are rectified.

Aesthetics

  • Coloured nail varnish and acrylic nails are not allowed
Non-Uniform Days:

Clothing must be sensible, modest and practical for the activities.  Jewellery and makeup rules apply on Non-Uniform Days.

P.E. & Games Equipment

So that you are ready to learn, you must bring your P.E. kit with you on days you have P.E. timetabled. We recommend labelling everything in your kit.

Equipment

It’s important that you are prepared to learn when you come to secondary school. You will need to bring your own equipment and will be responsible for keeping it safe. Always get your bag ready the night before and put your name on everything.
