ACE

I love my role as an ACE Tutor, knowing that our students have someone they can speak to whether it be for news to celebrate or an issue that needs resolving. I enjoy being an advocate to support our students and helping them overcome "life" barriers and encouraging them to achieve their full potential.

I became an ACE tutor at the beginning of the academic year, and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me. Many students need an adult they can talk to, share their frustrations and achievements with, someone who can offer advice, listen without judgment, and provide support when needed. I love being that person for my ACE students. It's amazing to watch them grow and develop both academically and personally, and knowing that I play a part in their journey is truly fulfilling. 

The best thing about being an Ace tutor is having the opportunity to share in students’ achievements as well as providing them with support and encouragement to help them overcome challenges. It’s a joy to witness our students grow in confidence and build resilience. It’s amazing to see how the ACE programme positively impacts student’s academic progress and personal wellbeing! 

I have been a member of the ACE team since January this year. I can honestly say that I have never had such an enjoyable, fulfilling role as this. I feel honoured to be an Ace Tutor and it is wonderful to enjoy building relationships and supporting students of all ages. I love being part of helping and guiding my ACE students through issues or listening to their thoughts and feelings. Being an ACE tutor is extremely rewarding. The bonds we have formed with each other are truly special.
Over the years I have worked in many different roles at KTC but I now know and feel that I have found my true place and I love it!

I look forward to my ACE sessions with the students I mentor. I love how they are able to express themselves in a safe, non-judgemental environment where they can be listened to and their point of view heard. ACE is important for students because it is an opportunity for them to be ‘advised’ as opposed to being told how to deal with a situation.

ACE is dedicated time for students to be heard, knowing their ACE mentor is always there.  In addition, they receive mentoring to build on essential and transferable skills to help increase resilience and confidence; learning to become self-actualised and appreciate their strengths.

I have been part of the ACE programme since September 2024.   I am honestly happy to be an ACE tutor and it is so amazing to see that ACE has helped many of our students.  My advice and insights have been instrumental in their personal and academic growth.  I deeply enjoy the time and effort I invest in mentoring my students.  Most of all, I always allow my students to see the hope inside themselves.
